LRC on high seas – Fun for all Sunday

Variety is the spice of life – and it’s not that we don’t love our weekend runs by no means. Rather, we look forward to this weekly get-together so much that ideas spring forward how can we make it even more fun. Summer opens up more possibilities to enjoy all the island has to offer and with soaring temperatures the call of the sea becomes irresistible which is a wonderful opportunity to add a bit of upper body workout to the usual running training…and make it all thoroughly enjoyable at the same time.

So this weekend we headed to the northern shores and ran to l-Ahrax tal-Mellieha area to greet the sunrise. The run was followed by kayaking in the crystalline waters off Mellieha coast, enjoying the sea breeze, counting jellyfish, blisters on thumbs and chipped nails in no particular order.

We don’t keep all the fun to ourselves and we opened the event for all family and friends. It was fantastic to welcome so many to join us in the activities on such a beautiful day. Feedback from all was uniformly positive with requests for many repeats so it’s fair to assume the day was a resounding success.

A warm Thank You! to all the members who organised, took part and the family and friends who joined us to make this outing so enjoyable.

Ps. No colour enhancements were used in the middle turquoise pic… that IS the colour of the sea when you lean over the edge of your kayak.
